Tall trees
We've had another lovely day pottering around with the cameras. We decided to go to Kircudbright, hoping to see some art. The town is full of history and interest, and while the galleries were closed we had a great walk - although the town walk was a little confusing due to the complete lack of signs which meant we must have walked double the distance as we trailed up and down in the woods. The cemetry is like none I have ever seen before - huge monuments and slabs of headstones rising up the hillside overlooking the Dee estuary.
Then we took our sandwiches to Loch Ken and saw red kites soaring and swooping. What an end to a wonderful weekend!
The forests are mixed pine and deciduous, giving a beautiful variety of shape and form. The Scots Pines rise to great heights and I tried giving a sideways slant to emphasize this.
