I'm glad to be able to post anything as I was too busy to have my second breakfast until lunchtime!

I slept really badly last night and was very relieved I didn't have to leave the house to go to work as with sunken eyes and ashen skin I would have caused an accident looking like a zombie. My hair had gone electric too despite the hair conditioner. I was a weird ginger dandelion clock!

With it being half term week everywhere, I was expecting a quieter day but no such luck.

Mid morning I felt riddled with guilt and went out in the pouring rain with nuts, birdseed and mealworms for my feathered and furry friends. This paid dividends later as after lunch I was shocked to see starlings everywhere with two doves on the top of the feeding station, loads of tits in the bushes and squirrels on the roof of the shed.

The doves got fed up of the racket from the starlings and flew off but only as far as the little table under the kitchen window. They seemed quite happy while I clicked away. The one nearest the camera was sitting on my rock from Ailsa Craig!
