Kabuki
I took Chisa to see a type of Japanese theatre called Kabuki. It is a sort of dance-drama, with elaborate costumes and antiquated language. Fortunately, the theatre loans headsets for English-speakers so that I could understand what was going on. I didn't really realise how long it was going to be - there were 2 plays and a dance and it lasted four and three-quarter hours! Luckily, we had taken some lunch with us that we could eat during the intervals. I quite enjoyed it, although I could have done with it speeding up a bit in places, but I think Chisa slept through a lot of it - as did many of the other audience members as far as I could see. Well, she won't ever have to go again, but I was glad of the company.
