Excessive lunching
Here's a quiz: which person on this lift had mussels and lamb confit for lunch, and which had a couple of chicken nuggets and some ice cream?
Not hard.
A sumptuous hotel breakfast was followed by a long lift queue and finally some skiing! We headed over into the valley where lunch was booked, with visibility on the mountain top down to a few metres... Happily it brightened steadily through the day, so we kept low in the morning - mainly to help CarbBoy who had come out in normal socks and without his neck warmer.
V and I wimped out 30 minutes before lunch and took the vin chaud option in what turned out to be a very swanky venue. Lunch was as epic as I'd been given to expect - and not the normal ski lunch fare. The boys ate here a few weeks ago on their eventful trip, so we followed their food and wine recommendations and feasted royally. (And then booked in for tomorrow too...)
Some slightly wobbly afternoon skiing (wrong lift, wrong piste, some rushing in case we missed our last lift home) but there were only a couple of tumbles (including CarbBoy while getting onto this lift - admirably fast reactions from the lift operator, not like last time - but only one injury (I have a fat lip after TallGirl smacked me with her ski pole).
We met up with the others, who had skied a more direct correct route home, then down to buy provisions and collapse. Later there will be snacking. Ambitions are low for tonight and I suspect an early night is in order.
Now that I have wifi (turn it off and on again...) there are a couple of backblips, including yesterday's eventful journey.
