leading a walk around Saddleworth and along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Martin arranged a superb walk for Bruce, Eptas and I starting from St Chad's Church, which this year celebrates its 800th anniversary.

We squelched across fields and explored a tiny 13th Century village, Diglea..  We ended-up at the Church Inn, which was just wonderful. Delicious beer from the adjoining micro brewery for just £2.10 per pint and generous helpings of homemade pies.  So, next time, the plan is to miss out the walking and go straight to our destination.
