Pierhead Clock, Cardiff.
I had to go into Cardiff to collect another lens for the camera and I always walk past this clock which was built in in1897 by William Potts & Sons of Leeds. The mechanism is almost identical to that in Big Ben in London, and it is known locally as baby Big Ben. The 1,000 lb clock was refurbished around 2005 at a cost of £147,000 and In 2011, it was installed in St Mary Street which is where ships in the 18th century moored on the river Taff prior to it being diverted to allow the building of the railway station.
