Snuggled in while we expect record lows tonight.

Last night was SO cold. Considering how cold it's been lately, that's saying a lot!

It really wasn't a very good night to be standing outside around midnight in the below zero (F) temps... But when we smelled the smoke and heard the fire trucks, we went out to help our neighbors. They had a chimney fire and in the end, were very lucky... No one hurt and their house remains intact. Smoke and cleanup is what remains today. But last night was a nail-biter for a while. It really brought back thoughts of our fire a few years ago... Not pleasant... But I'm so relieved that everything came out okay last night!

So tonight, an even colder night, we are happy to be tucked in and warm, snuggled up with Piper. :)
