We were taking a leisurely breakfast at Kovalam beach when a woman balancing a large tuna in a basin on her head caught my eye. She was followed by a fisherman with a bowlful of small fish on his head. He saw the camera and insisted on posing with a fish in his hand. But it was this colourful collection of scarves, sarongs and skirts that appealed most.
