Wet ivy on a post
I hope that the title isn't too cryptic. It's been raining all day so I've not been far.
Today in amongst the other stuff I've been doing I have been trying to get my head round booking rail tickets from London to Munich. I've found a number of routes and a number of sites but none are models of clarity.
The Eurostar site is particularly special. Plug in the journey details, find the prices and time of trains and then check the smaller text. I'm not mug enough to think that they could deliver me to München Hbf in a couple of hours but that's what the site suggests. In reality Eurostar only shows their service and then assumes that you will understand that the return trip time shown is ex-Brussels or Paris rather than the place you've spent a few days. They do offer tickets which cover the services they elect not to display though. Trust me my friends, getting and showing this information from other service providers isn't too tricky these days and even if that is a problem it can't be too difficult to make this stuff clearer. Other sites are similarly dense with one of the easiest being Deutsche Bahn but booking in two lumps; the bit from here to abroad and then the bit from abroad to Munich, adds to the price even though the abroad bit can be paid for with abroad money.
I've got the fire going - it's cold here this evening - and now to veg out with rubbish TV
