The Pharos and Mull

I was on Mull for most of the day with a succession of meetings and a full surgery.  That is the job of a constituency MSP - to help when and where required.   It is great to do it, and particularly in these surroundings.

This was the view from the pier in Oban this morning.  The snow on Mull was highlighted in the winter sun whilst in the foreground the Lighthouse tender  "NLV Pharos"  (the tenth of the name ) sits at the pier operated by the Commissioners of Northern Lights.  

I have always wanted to go on one of the voyages of the Pharos, in the steps of Walter Scott who was a Commissioner of Northern Lights and who wrote a wonderful book about such a tour.
