LET'S GO FLY A KITE

Spot the birders!

Our planned 2 night stay at Newburgh was curtailed by the weather forecast. With the snow expected we thought we should cut and run while we could still get home. I would have quite liked to have been stranded, the room, food and staff at the hotel were excellent, but sensible G won.

But a detour was suggested and we set off towards Edinburgh, and joined the huge queue at the bridge as our timing met an "escorted vehicle" going over. We didn't see what it was though. Is that another bridge being built there?

Along the ring road I saw a sign for Rosslyn Chapel. Could we go there? Oh, never mind then.

By lunch time we had reached Cheswick Sands near Berwick-upon-Tweed and the next duck. A Black Scoter. Well, it was lucky there were birders about who could spot it because looking for a black duck bobbing far out to sea was not easy. Eventually we saw it, though kite flying looked a more enjoyable pastime to me; annoyingly I hadn't thought to bring mine!

I am told this is my 1,825th blip. Times flies, as well as kites!
