Another Languedoc year...

Just back from a wonderful day at Chelsea Flower Show. We're staying in Marylebone from where we got an early start via tube and bus to Sloane Square. Ali asked if I had the tickets. Panic swept over me as I realised I'd left them back at the flat. Sweetheart that she is, Ali went all the way back to pick them up while I sat in a cafe and cursed my stupidity.

Anyway, an hour later and we were in, still early enough for it to be uncrowded in the main pavilion where all the gorgeous plants are displayed by their proud growers. We bought loads of interesting seeds and were given, with the most amazing grace, generosity and patience, lots of advice on growing various types of plants.

I came away with a spud hoe, new trowel and fork and a polytunnel's worth of inspiration. Now we just need to get the final terracing done at La Caumette and the planting can begin.
