Red Shift

I've noticed ever since I got my new camera that on all but tungsten white balance everything had a reddish tinge to it.
When all else fails, read the instructions as we always say , so we did and discovered the White balance fine adjustment which I'd never heard of and didn't know was there. I think I only got to about page forty three in the instruction booklet and that was about 'basic operation' and then I probably fell asleep. They're very wordy aren't they these instructions?
Anyway it was cranked right over to the maximum red / magenta end of the spectrum.
Duly adjusted then, but somehow this tomato still looks quite......red?
This was the most colourful thing lying around the house without going out on a dull day.
