Western Reef Heron

What a day it was here in Muscat! The sea was as wild as I've ever seen it and the temperature with the fierce wind was like Cornwall on a lovely summers day. Not at all as it has been, with the mercury in the late nineties-a very refreshing change! This Western Reef Heron was looking very resplendent, with his fabulous blue/grey plumage and his head streamers, sheltering in the fishermen's lagoon out of the strong wind. They say rain is still on its way and we really need it and look forward to it! Sadly it's the day Ed Sheeran is due to play at the Shangrila!
