Mystery

This is central Hucknall, near where I attend a Nottinghamshire Healthwatch board meeting on a regular basis.
This piece of artistic creativity stands in the town centre, opposite Hucknall library, but carries neither plaque nor explanation.
So far I have not found anyone who can explain its significance, but a couple of passers-by assured me that it is a giant lemon-squeezer!!!
Another person thought it had something to do with Lord Byron, though that seems a tad implausible, and why he might be associated with a lemon squeezer, giant or otherwise, stretches the imagination somewhat.
Now you know as much as I do. Intriguing though.
