Suddenly

We started out today in Windermere at Lakeland (a very bad place!). We had a late and most delicious breakfast, but came out with a lot of ‘useful’ things, most of which we had not planned to buy. No idea how that happened.
 
We then went down to the lake and were surprised to find so many people down there – it was wet, cold, windy, and you couldn’t see a thing across the water. We walked by the lake for a little and suddenly the sun came out from behind the clouds and snow-covered mountains appeared – quite magical. You can see by the dark clouds that it didn’t last very long.
 
A blizzard deterred us from calling at Keswick and instead we took a circuitous route to the Upfront Gallery for tea and cake. This place has grown since I was last here and it was very busy. The Gallery is much bigger now and we wandered through the Open Exhibition.  I eventually found the excellent painting mentioned by intothehills here.
  
A very mixed day of sunshine and wintery showers.
