Yellow again.
Have you noticed a yellow theme to my blips this week? They must like the colour up here.
A house in Braemar spotted this morning and a close-up of the river I paddled in towards the end of my bike ride through the hills, cooling the old feet.
And the answer to the riddle.
As I had only booked for Tuesday night in the hotel in Braemar but decided to stay for a second night as it was so nice, I was offered one of the log cabins for Wednesday. On leaving for work on Wednesday morning, the hotel owner siad I could leave my case on the foyer and she would have it taken to my cabin once it was ready.
You've guessed the rest. By the time they noticed it was missing and tracked it down to a group of BBC staff having mistakenly taken it with their gear, my case was at Glasgow airport, bound for somewhere nice.
Fortunately it had not flown, so they were able to get a courier to return said case to me but it was gone 8 in the evening before it arrived.
In 15 years of running the hotel, this has never happened before and the owners were so apologetic it was almost embarrassing. So much so, they knocked some money off the bill which I said was not necessary. In the end, I paid the reduced bill and said that I would give the balance to School Mission Zambia and took the opportunity to tell them more about Hannah's work out there.
All was ok finally. A good night's rest and off on a bike ride this morning before the journey to East Kilbride and then on to Carlisle for the night.
