Water in the Moat

We last had Chip in mid November so this morning's trip to the Moat Field was the first for 3 months.  It was very slippery underfoot and as you can see there is water lying in the moat.  The other surprise was a large number of mole hills.
I stopped off and lingered in the graveyard on the return.  The village history project has made me familiar with nearly all of the names that feature on the gravestones. They almost seem like old friends.
