Late afternoon around Near Sawrey

A day of two halves. More squally, sleety showers in the morning, which eventually cleared to give a dramatic afternoon.

We spent the morning shopping in Bowness, buying waterproof, soft shell trousers which could be used in all weathers. Light, comfortable, wind proof and indeed waterproof as they demonstrated on the way down to the ferry later on.

Up to Booths, the supermarket next for more supplies and to sample their scones and coffee. I have to report the scones were excellent, quite as good as the best John Lewis had to offer.

The walk today was a nine miler., south along the shores of Windermere then back north through Cunsley and Near Sawrey to the ferry. The best part of the day.

To cap it all, after a steak dinner we went to see A Theory of Everything at the charm in cinema in Bowness.
