Puff the Magic Dragon
Woodland walk this afternoon in Eaves Wood (NT). A delightful place where it is easy to get lost.
But there is always something new to find. Here on a decaying log was a considerable colony of Stump Puffball ( Lycoperdon pyriforme).
Trying to get a photograph of a few million spores floating into the air was a bit of a challenge. I did think I could have done with my tripod and an App which would allow a remote triggering of the shutter. I had the I phone but none of the other items.
So it was a case of holding the camera with one hand and tapping the puffballs with my pacer pole, withdrawing it rapidly and taking the shot at the same time,
