Night market shopping

We're quite enjoying being in Vientiane although we're not doing a great deal and spend the morning deciding whether to stay or move on.  Eventually we decide to start heading south but to split the journey up a bit so our next stop is Thakhek, about 6-7 hours drive from Vientiane.

Since the first night of storms its been getting hotter and hotter here and the midday sun is truly fierce.  We bump into Stefan and Auguste who are struggling with hangovers in the heat - they are very pale and perhaps not as used to the beers as us!  

In the evening we head to the night market.  Fred needs a new hoodie as hers has fallen apart and Andy some new funky flip flops.
