Make-Up Chat

As it's a wet and miserable old lot out there today I have stayed in my PJ's and done housework, caught up on TV, emails etc.

I didn't want to venture out for a Blip either, so here's a small selection of my lipsticks!

One of the many things I don't like about getting older is how much harder it becomes to mess about and experiment with make-up. All the gothy , heavy eyeliners, dark lipsticks etc. I used to wear just look downright wrong now.   When I was young my Mum used to say I didn't need all that gunk on my face, and I should make the most of my natural beauty (Lol!) I'm glad I didn't listen - the window for creative cosmetics is open all too short a time as it is!

Once you get a few years on the clock less is definitely more! Anything shiny on the eyes, apart from inner corner and browbone, accentuates lines. Ditto coloured shadow anywhere! Mascara on lower lashes points  out the wrinkles! Flicky liner on droopy eyelids is impossible and/or bonkers-looking! Powder sits in lines and defines them. Dark, bright or matte lipsticks look harsh. (Some of these look dark and bright but they are actually very sheer.)

So, youngsters, go crazy while you have the chance! Just one word of warning...STOP with this removing and drawing on the eyebrows mallarkey! You will regret it when the hairs start to grow back patchy and pointing in all directions! Take it from one who tried the trend last time and has the scars to prove it!
