Fire

Yesterday I mentioned the serious fire which had engulfed a pair of thatched cottages and it transpires the Fire Service fought the flames well into the night, eventually pumping water from the river about half a mile away.  This morning the hoses snakeing through the village were still there as was a fire engine  and large pump on the river bank.The buildings were severely damaged but fortunately there were no injuries.
