Simenon Tribute
I took this shot at an exhibition on Georges Simenon and the artist Jacques Loustal. It's a sculpture consisting of a black metal plate with a small poster for the show, which displayed Loustal's illustrations for Simenon's books, as many of the books themselves. It was organized by BILIPO (Bibliothèque des littératures policières--Library of Police Literature), Its small gallery frequently has interesting exhibitions.
Simenon (originally from Belgium) is best known as the creator of Maigret, the Parisian police official who figures in many dozens of his nearly 200 books. I have become addicted to the Maigret stories, starting five years ago--they have undoubtedly helped my French :)
