We visited my cousins who have a big citrus farm near Citrusdal, they treated us to the most delicious fruit, prickly pear and mango and watermelon, as well as delicious lamb chops, almost as good as the ones we get in Iceland! After we could not eat any more watermelon, the chickens were invited to eat, and they loved it. Unfortunately the oranges and grapefruit and naartjies (clementines) are not ripe yet, although the trees are all heavily laden with fruit. Harvest time is from May till September.
