The Lightship Helwick, Cardiff Bay.

This propellor less lightship was built in 1953 and was known as light vessel 14.  It was stationed off Rhossili on the Gower Peninsular to provide warnings to passing ships of the hazardous invisible threat of the Helwick sandbank. In 1975 a helipad was added for ease of access. It is 137 feet long, 25 feet wide with a draught of 15 feet and weighs in at 550 tons. It was manned by a crew of seven people. Nowadays it is moored in Cardiff bay and is used as a  chapel and café.
