Surprise Party!
This past weekend my friend, Taylor, through her mom a surprise 50th birthday party. She spent months preparing by inviting people, getting ideas, organizing who would make the food and gathering old photos to make a slide show. On the day of the party we went to the firehouse to set up. We made a palm tree balloon archway, a photo booth area, set the tables and decorated with streamers and other fun decorations. The theme of the party was a luau, so there were a lot of bright colors and Hawaiian flowers. Everyone arrived at the party around 5 to get there before the birthday girl did. The birthday girl, Christal, thought that she was going to a baby shower. She walked into the firehouse holding her baby shower gift and looked so confused. Everyone yelled surprise and she definitely was surprise. She didn’t see it coming at all. After she got there we went table by table to get our food. After everyone was finished eating, Taylor and a few of Christal’s family members went up front and gave little speeches about memories and how much she means to them. The memories were then followed by a slideshow that contained pictures throughout Christal’s life. We set up a photo booth with a backdrop and props for people to get their pictures taken in and that was a hit. The DJ played music and we danced. It was a really fun night. She was so happy about the party which was awesome because she definitely deserved it. She is the most generous person I know, and she would do anything for anyone, and I am so glad that we got to do this for her.
