There are always flowers....
.... for those who want to see them

A great evening last night. We went to the Fish Kitchen for supper with Finola and Robert as Robert will be shortly a year bolder. Not a brilliant choice for a vegetarian you might think but they did have one veggie dish and it was delicious - a green curry. A very attractive and laid back kind of place with excellent food - take note Cynthia, another for your list. Himself and I then decided to tackle the bleak and Russian film, while they needed something lighter and went off to the 2nd Best Marigold Hotel. Leviathan was exceptionally well filmed and set in a grim part of Siberia, the coastline littered with wrecks of boats and whales, the sun hardly shining. It was a tale of utmost corruption at every level and extremely depressing for the fat cats pulverised those at the very bottom. Industrial quantites of vodka was consumed and it was seriously depressing but oddly appropriate considering the assasination in Russia this week. I have to say this image did give us a laugh over breakfast. What an amazing original photo though.
Today I had to take the car in to be serviced and had a good walk around Durrus whilst waiting. I ventured into the Catholic church, then had a wander around the Protestant church (closed) and examined the graves and listened to the rooks. I'm getting a bit of a fascination for things left on graves. I can feel a series coming on. I thought this a very colourful and poignant offering.I went down to the shore and watched the man collecting winkles and sat in the sunshine for a bit - up to 12C today! The tide was way out and hooded crows were busy in the seaweed.
Back home and a bit more digging and now I have to sort out the fruit cages. They are on bog and currently underwater and grasses of Savannah proportions have grown on top. Huge smelly swathes come up with a mighty tug. Blueberries and cranberries thrive though.
My Wolf Hall DVD has arrived - can't wait to get stuck in.
And it's Derelict Thursday tomorrow. Himself is taking a Blip break and slaving over maps, but he will look at all entries and select his faves as usual.
