Gussy got the first of his results today. His first year at college and his favourite subject, Media Studies. Got a call from his tutor. He suggested I may need to sit down to hear this news.

"I'm afraid to say I got a 'D' dad!

"OMG!" - I scream in my head .
"...but at least that's a pass right?" i quizzed. I'm so lost at sea with all the new grades, modules, points, marks out of 327. What ever happened to simple percentages?

"...but at least that's a pass right?"
"Yes Dad, it stands for Distinction!"
