Spring

No wind and even some sun today.
Fortuitously this was the day chosen for a Last of the Summer Wine reprise with the three of us pretend archaeologists exploring an area of North Uist just opposite the house called Liernish, a place name with Norse roots meaning Tern Point.
Thermoses and sandwiches were packed and off we set. Amazing how much there is still to discover and record out there. We ended up finding almost twenty sites not recorded on the Register of Sites, most of which were pretty insignificant.
Three or four however were quite interesting and one in particular will repay further attention, possibly dating back almost four thousand years. Six kilometres over rough terrain and I was happy to survive as it was my first proper walk for a while.
