Super Pit

Today we explored the goldfields of Kalgoorlie Boulder.

Our visit to the largest gold mine in Australia was a very interesting one; A step back in time to the start of the gold rush, sitting in the huge machinery used today compared to then, seeing the old town with its Wild West saloons and the oldest original remaining brothel was worth the trip.

As for the super pit, the scale and size of this goldmine is something that is hard to describe unless you see it.

Hopefully my shot of it, especially viewed in large, will portray a general idea of the size of the operation. Each of the vehicles used is the size of a small house.
