Fjallsarlon Glacial Lagoon
Well today really was a case of seeing the Icelandic saying, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute." Or maybe a couple of hours lol.
The day was interspersed with lots of hail, rain, sleet, snow and the very occasional ray of sunlight. The wind was pretty much consistent throughout.
The group has some lectures in the afternoon on composition which was pretty good as it looked a lot at frame dynamics and image flow rather than just the rule of thirds.
This image came from a late afternoon trip to Fjallsarlon which was totally frozen over and with lots of lines and shapes within the scene to choose from. I really like the sweep of the lines here. The lack of sunlight and heavy cloud gave all the images a really deep surreal blue tone that you might excuse for thinking was false but it really wasn't. I figured black and white would simplify the composition.
