Ice Spine
... or spine chilling?
This weird formation was created by melting snow dripping and then refreezing. There's a poor box bush next to the side door that's been fairly well smashed by the snow sliding off the roof, and the branches and leaves now sport quite a beautiful ice "chandelier". As the ice starts to grudgingly melt in the wan sun, it's drilled a sort of frozen cave down into the snow around the base of the shrub. A mini glacier of sorts. Anyway, I am reminded of a dinosaur spine when I look at this section of the frosty tableau. Maybe it's just all the cough drops and cold medications I've been taking!
