Recife, Brazil

Today we arrived in Recife, the fifth largest metropolitan area in Brazil.  The city is huge -- it stretches for miles along the coast, with thousands of high rise buildings clustered together.  The ocean is the most beautiful colour here -- ranging from sapphire blue to azure to turquoise to jade green.  It's also incredibly HOT and humid!

We walked off the ship and over to the old part of the city, which is very close to where we are docked.  It is full of beautiful old buildings dating back to the 18th and 19th Centuries.  Many of these buildings are being restored and put to use as restaurants and bars.  They are brightly painted in a rainbow of colours which makes the area very photogenic!
