Life's Adventurers
Saying "farewell for now" to these special friends, as they end their very long season in Coos Bay and embark on a new adventure. This dear lady and I both took voice lessons at the same time during my first year of college. I was 17and she was, and still is, impossible to tie to any age at all. She lives by the tip of her wings at all times, always stretching, always believing, always smiling and encouraging, and always, always singing.
For a few years, Mr. Contraptioneer and I participated in a group of carolers, inspired by the passions of this dear lady. We found ourselves on street corners, in retirement homes, and even in a grocery store in the small fishing village of Charleston Oregon. If the FB album will not open, here is a link to the blip entry that day. We were all present this evening, so we naturally found ourselves putting our heads together and doing our best to remember words and harmonies for songs we have sung over the years...from P.D.Q Bach to classic hymns. I love, love, love them. I love their sense of adventure, their passion for laughter, music and love.
The scarf she is wearing over her head is such an example of her zest for living. When she opened this gift, she first placed it around her neck like most of us would, but it took only moments to end up over her head, like the day she was married...in the very location we were saying 'so long' for now.
Go forth, my friends, and be a blessing...while you live the blessing.
