Church Of St Mary The Virgin, Haverhill.

This lovely old church near the market square has evolved over the centuries into the church we see today. The earliest date known being 1300, which is the lower part of the tower. The building was thoroughly restored in 1886-7 by the architects Elmslie and Franey of London. My grandson enjoyed his 11th birthday especially when he opened his present of a violin. He had been wanting to learn to play this instrument for some time. He will have some lessons and we hope he will keep interested  and practice regularly.
