Winter at Smitingen

Waves washing up on the beach at Smitingen - no ice and very little snow!
There have been winters when in early March you could ski from the beach across the sea ice to these rocks.
As you can see this is not such a winter. In fact I’m fairly sure the sea never froze over at all this winter, here on the outer side of the island.
This is very boring for people such as myself who love the winter and the outdoor activities associated with winter. Oh well, looks like I’ll have to get the kayak out…
(Temperature today was +13°C which is very unusual for this time of year when -5° would be more normal!)
