Waiting

These tulips were planted in a new flower bed in the autumn and have had buds for weeks, if not months. With the warm sunny weather this week they have stopped waiting and finally opened up!

There's good news and bad news on the camera front. I took this photo before my lens stopped working - it's now stuck in the out position. It was really weird not having a camera - I kept seeing things I thought would be good to photograph, but wasn't able to. There was only one thing to do and so I bought myself a new camera this afternoon (Sat 26th) before back blipping this photo. Hope we get on well! I'm impatiently waiting for the battery to charge.

Seven of the eight eggs have hatched in the last 24 hours - no more waiting or rest for the parents now - they are already busy bringing in tasty morsels of caterpillars and slugs!
