Pre-Spring clean-up!

We needed to get rid of the wasp's nest from the tree in the side yard. Of course, everything is covered with snow and Steve had to shovel the snow away from the door of the shed to get the tools. We got the ladder, pole saw, garbage can and plastic bag.

It was to difficult to cut the branch off because it was small and just wiggled with the saw. We decided that we needed to get some rope to hold the branch still so that the saw could cut. Steve wrapped the rope in a snowball and after a few tries he was able to get the rope over the branch and nest. It was a funny sight seeing him throwing snowballs over the branch. After a few misses, we had the rope in place. I held the rope and pulled the branch tight. Steve sawed and finally with a combination of shaking, tugging, wiggling and pulling we got the nest free.

Victory!

We were both soaked to the knees from standing in the snow. It is probably about 2 feet deep and melting! Larry frolicked in the snow while we worked. He seemed to enjoy himself!
