Raglan Castle.

It was a bleak, drizzly, cold day so a visit to a castle ruin was in order. There are certainly plenty to choose from, sixteen in our area alone! 
We started with White Castle, but it seemed deserted and the elevation meant that the wind and cold were a bit off putting! So we went to Raglan Castle where there were a few like minded tourists braving the damp chill in their boots and parkas. The gift shop offered some welcome moments of shelter. 
We went into Newport to seek out hot coffee and a toasted tea cake, and found a lovely snug cafe that made Jim more than welcome. We were able to sit in companionable peace and read the papers - who needs sun!
