Spring morning in Portland
I had to be downtown at 9 a.m. today. At that hour, on the first work day of Daylight Savings Time, everything is dusted in sunshine and pollen. Well-dressed people hurry to work without overcoats, fleece jackets, or down-puffy raincoats. Joy drifts on a lover's breeze like petals of plum, pear, and magnolia. So much seems possible.
