Would you like ice in your G&T?

Today C and I took it fairly easy. We had a trip to the clinic first, to check on C's injured shoulder, and the doctor was very pleased with him. We don't have to go back unless there's a problem, but he can't ski again this week.
We then had to return his ski-pass, as they are quite expensive, and with the doctor's certificate he was able to claim back 5 days out of the 6 that he'd paid for, which was good.
By this time it was getting on for lunchtime, so we caught a bus to the nearby little town of Ortisei, and enjoyed a really lovely lunch, and we sat outside in glorious sunshine - removing another layer of clothing about every 10 minutes as it was so warm there. It's a good job that we only ate one course!
This is the river running through Ortisei, and somehow they have formed these ice structures. We think that they must do it by using fountains as the winter approaches, and they gradually freeze up.
We're now back at our chalet and have had our afternoon tea and cakes, and soon it will be time for "Apres Ski". It's difficult to cope with  all of this eating and drinking, but we're doing our best.
Thank you for all of your good wishes yesterday. I'm sure it has helped - it has cheered him up anyway.
