The Little Gem
For those who cannot read the sign it says "The Little Gem - Built 1106, restored 1958". What's missing is "Closed 2010". It was a smashing little boozer on the High Street in Aylesford. It claimed to be the smallest pub in Kent but that was before the growth of micro-pubs. A few doors up, at the end of the bridge, is George House which is now a private residence but still has the lovely windows from when it used to be The George public house.
