An ordinary life....

At last, after months of fine tuning and bug fixing, Alan finally got to have a proper go of his Eye Gaze* this afternoon.

Despite being knackered after his late night seeing McBusted in concert (him and Andrew had a ball.  Got back at midnight and not in bed till just after 1.00am!!!), he was keen to have a go.

Please forgive the rubbish quality of the photo, but it was taken on my phone, through a gap in the door, as I didn't want to disturb his concentration.  He has a serious face here but he's been giggling all afternoon whilst learning how to navigate his way around the newly configured screens.

You read reports of young people getting this equipment and the first thing they use it to say is "I love you" to their mum.  Alan asked for a drink of milk.  I fully expect him to be telling me to f*ck off before the day is out!    :-)))))))

In other news, his pal Andrew (who's here till this evening) has eaten so far, 4 slices of French toast, a chicken burger, chips, a whole packet of shortbread, 3 caramel slices, a Cadbury mini roll, 4 cups of coffee, one cup of tea and 3 glasses diet coke.

He's just asked for a chippy for his tea.

I'd rather keep him a week than a fortnight!!!!

*Eye gaze systems allow people with severe physical disabilities to access a computer. These high-tech systems have an inbuilt camera which tracks where your eyes are looking, enabling you to move the mouse pointer around. You can 'click' by blinking, dwelling (staring at the screen for a certain length of time) or using a switch.
