He's home!
Yesterday afternoon I started the big post-builders/decorators clean up. To be fair, we have had the most amazing sub contractor from the bathroom shop who asked for my vacuum cleaner and got stuck in with me, and between the two of us we hoovered and washed all the dust out of the bathrooms and adjoining bedrooms. By the time Gavin got home all he had to do was hang the curtains back up again.
On Thursday night when I phoned Luke to make arrangements about collecting him from the airport, he told me that he had the most awful (as in overly strict and unfriendly) ski instructor who was determined to fail the candidates, and if he made the slightest mistake he would not get his level 2 qualification. So on Friday, the final day of his 2 week assessment, he was so worried he would slip up and not qualify - but thankfully it all went very well and he passed, and now he is qualified to be a ski instructor. Only 4 out of 6 in his group passed. I think there were many celebratory drinks on Friday night!
Today Gavin went to watch Thomas' hockey match (they won again by 4-2) and I went to Heathrow to fetch Luke. You won't be surprised to hear he won the prize for the best ski goggle tan! He is very pleased to be home again, as apart from a short while over Christmas he has not been home since July last year when he left on his gap year to firstly study languages and then to get his ski instructor qualification. Now he is home, and the student job hunting starts next week....
