Johnny ...

This is one of my husband's friends from primary school soccer, so they have known each other for over 40 years. They can go for many years without seeing each other, but fall back into an easy rhythm.  

It's not until you add up the years and write them down that you get a 'big picture' sense of time passing. I have an awareness on a daily and weekly timeframe, but when you step back and look at it from this perspective it can be quite daunting. I love that photography can give you a pretty detailed account of what happened in all of those intervening years.
