Mothering Sunday: 15.3.15
No breakfast in bed for me but 2 cards and supportive words from sons. #2 son has sent flowers, unfortunately I am away most of the weeks, so I may not see them. #3 son helped out by taking dad to Tesco, fixing their dishwasher and putting ink in the printer. Mum and I spent the afternoon at the Filmhouse, seeing 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. It was a good piece of froth for a cold, cloudy Sunday. And I'm sure it will do more wonders for the Jaipur tourist industry.
And happy birthday to sis J who is 60 today.
And of course before that I responding to the current blip unrest. I'd started manual backup. I should have done it ages ago as there is no guarantee a website will ever continue indefinitely and since I stopped a written diary this is it. However, I'd only got to the end of 2010 and reckoned the rest would take about a week. Luckily my friend LeeAnne has a contact who can do it for you, at a cost. I paid my money and (since this is a back blip) it was done 8 hours later. Both LeeAnne and I have the contact details for Blipbackup and happy to share.
I hope whatever is happening does not mean the end of blip. It is difficult to balance the needs of a business, the owners, and the community, us the users. I don't want to lose my diary, but even more I don't want to lose all the friends and contacts I have made across the world. Doing my manual backup it was brought home to me that i'd known some folk for over 4 years. They are part of my daily life and I'd miss them.
