Blackbird
Today's the day ...................... for dark thoughts
We were having a discussion the other day about birds that are black.
Most people think that the likes of crows, rooks, ravens and jackdaws are all a bit sinister and scary. You certainly wouldn't want them all that close to you - and there's even something evil and malevolent about them.
But curiously, somehow none of that applies to the garden blackbird? Maybe it's because it's not quite so big - or maybe it's such a common bird that we have just got used to it.
Or could it just be that clever addition of the orange beak .....................?
PS This, it seems, is a day of dark thoughts. Can it really be that blipfoto will be no more? Like everyone else, I have much to be grateful for in the daily routine that it has brought to my life. I have got to know some wonderful people along the way who have enriched my life in ways I could never have imagined.
I have signed up with 365Project as todaystheday. At the moment, I have no enthusiasm - but perhaps that will come in due course . . .
