Exhibitor mania
Another long and hot day at the Chelsea Flower Show. It was really busy again and we were all talking to the visitors and showing them our exhibits. We had a very good response and gave away lots of leaflets and magazines. I didn't really bother looking round the show on my breaks - an opportunity to sit down in a quiet cool place was much more important by this stage.
This was our stand at about 3.30, just before the plant sale began at 4 pm. We were all feeling very tired and a bit silly.....it has been a long week. Some of the crew had been there for over a week on and off and were keen to get going on dismantling the stand and returning home.
I was allowed to leave at 4 pm and waited to buy some herbs from the Sparsholt College stand next door. Armed with two large pots of Sage and Thyme, I marched off back to Sloane Square at full speed. Made it back with plants reasonably intact for about 6 pm.
Evening slightly spoiled by local Pimms shortage but we made do (valiantly) with gin instead.
