Like Blip we shall spawn anew!
Frog and Toad Spawn once more decorates the pond in the back garden. We've had a couple of years where little or no spawn was laid, and we worried that perhaps they were encountering chemicals or pets in nearby gardens that were affecting their return. But they're back, and following the heron's kind ministrations over winter I don't think there are many fish left to disturb the breeding.
On animal related subjects, our new friend may have wandered off again. The chook had a tendency to stand atop the higher vantage points - maybe the compost bins, maybe the coop, maybe the apple tree. Despite having her flight feathers clipped she was out yesterday (rescued from the top of the neighbour's beehive!) and she made it over the chicken run fence again today. She's a free ranger in every sense of the word, and I think perhaps we'll have to accept that.
Shared with fingers crossed:
JOIN US TOMORROW!! MARCH 18TH! Take a photo of yourself with arms stretched wide (as if you were going to hold hands with the people next to you) and post as your blip for the day. Please make it a square photo with your hands right at the edge so when the photos are together, we will be holding hands!! Tag your image with ‪#blipfotoforever‬. A great show of solidarity....help us show everyone just how important Blipfoto is! Thank you Sally Ballantyne for the wonderful idea!!
